Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools still faces challenges due to differences in students' learning abilities and the limited availability of adaptive learning media that integrate local cultural values. This study aims to develop a proof of concept of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Adaptive Mathematics Nusantara application for fifth-grade elementary school students. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The application was designed to provide personalized mathematics learning by adapting learning materials and exercises according to students' abilities while integrating ethnomathematics based on Indonesian local culture. The developed prototype was evaluated through expert validation and limited trials involving teachers and students to assess its functionality and usability. The results indicate that the prototype functions properly and demonstrates the feasibility of AI-based adaptive learning integrated with Mathematics Nusantara. This study contributes to the development of innovative educational technology that supports personalized, contextual, and culturally responsive mathematics learning in elementary schools.
