Glycosuria, 24 Hours Urine, Dip MethodAbstract
Glycosuria is where sugar (glucose) is excreted in the urine, even though blood sugar levels are low or normal. Glycosuria is a disease characterized by the presence of glucose in the urine. The disease is often also called diabetes or diabetes mellitus. Urine that is delayed for more than 2 hours will result in changes in its composition by germs because the collected urine sample is not accommodated in a clean and sterile container. This study aims to determine the urine glucose levels of patients with Diabetes Mellitus directly examined and stored 24 hours in a refrigerator at Bandung Hospital Medan using the Dip method. This study is descriptive in nature, where the population in this study is all people with diabetes mellitus from September to October 2021. The research sample was determined by Total Sampling. The results obtained from 10 positive urine glucose samples with the Dip method, all experienced a decrease in glucose levels when compared to direct examination. It is recommended that further research does not delay urine examination.
