The purpose of this research was to conduct a case study to explain how a systematic desensitization therapy decress anxiety in patients blood-injection-injury phobia. The independent variable was systematic desensitization therapy. The dependent variable was anxious reaction which is a symptom of blood-injection-injury phobia. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a single case, by A-B-A model. The research participants were patients with blood-injection-injury phobia, diagnosed by an interview developed based on DSM IV. The results of therapy showed that the systematic desensitization therapy could decreass anxiety level from 100 SUD to 40 SUD. After the therapy has been stopped in one week, the scale decreased to be 30 SUD and it stood in next week. Self-administration conducted in this therapy was sufficiently helpful for the effectiveness of therapy. A succses practice of facing real situations conducted after stimulating imaginations was helpful in decreasing SUD number.
