HUBUNGAN ANTARA PEMAKAIAN KB HORMONAL TERHADAP KEJADIAN KANKER PAYUDARA

Background : Breast cancer is a type of malignancy that generally occurs in women around the world. The incidence of breast cancer can be triggered by several risk factors, one of which is hormonal factors, where these hormonal factors imclude users of birth control pills, estrogen hormone therapy and others. The use of hormonal contraceptives can increase the risk of breast cancer two times greater than those who do not use hormonal contraceptives. This increased risk occurs because hormonal contraceptives contain steroid hormones consisting of the hormones estrogen and progesterone which can damage breast tissue if used continuously.
Method: The research method used was a Literature Review, using secondary data. The data collection method used in this research is the documentation method. The research journals used were 6 journals with the inclusion criteria of women suffering from breast cancer with a history of hormonal contraceptive use and a publication date of ± the last 5 years starting from 2014 - 2018, then the language used in this research method is Indonesian and English, while the research subjects used are women who suffer from breast cancer, as well as full text publication journals.
Results: There is a relationship between the use of hormonal birth control and the incidence of breast cancer.
Suggestion: Provide information and education counseling (IEC) to women who will use contraceptives to determine other contraceptive options that are appropriate to use according to the time and conditions of each history, such as a history of previous contraceptive use as well as family history and personal history.
