Focus and Scope

Jurnal Kedokteran Methodist (JKM) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the dissemination of high-quality research in the fields of medicine and health sciences. Published by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Methodist Indonesia, the journal serves as a platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners to share innovative findings and clinical insights.

The journal invites original submissions that contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge, with a particular interest in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Basic Medical Research: Studies exploring the fundamental mechanisms of disease, including biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, and microbiology.

  • Clinical Medicine: Research involving patient care, diagnostic methods, therapeutic interventions, and clinical outcomes across all medical specialties (Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, etc.).

  • Public Health & Health Sciences: Topics related to epidemiology, community health, preventive medicine, and healthcare management.

  • Pharmacy & Pharmacology: Studies on drug development, clinical pharmacy, herbal medicine, and toxicological research.

  • Advanced Biomedical Sciences: We specifically welcome reports and research in cutting-edge fields such as:

    • Genomics and Proteomics

    • Epigenetics

    • Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine

Types of Articles JKM publishes the following types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Articles: Full-length reports of current research findings.

  2. Case Reports: Detailed reports of unique or rare clinical cases that provide significant learning points.

  3. Review Articles: Comprehensive and critical summaries of specific topics in medicine and health sciences.

All published articles are aimed at fostering scientific communication and contributing to the improvement of healthcare quality both nationally in Indonesia and internationally.
