Guidelines for Authors

Manuscript Instruction

The manuscript should be written in English. The manuscript should only be submitted online. The structures of the manuscript are as follows :

  1. Title Page
  2. Manuscript Format
  3. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
  4. References and Citation Style
  5. Copyright Statement

 

1.1 Title Page

The title page must contain the information as follows:

1.1.1  Capitalise each first letter of the Title of the manuscript, except for minor words such as in, for, the, a, an, or conjunctions (and, but, or)

           For example: A Structure for Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid

1.1.2  Name (s) author (s)

1.1.3  Name (s) of affiliated institutions, city, post code, and country of all co-authors.

1.1.4  Correspondence author: name, address, and email

1.1.5  Number the pages consecutively in the right lower portion of the bottom.

 

2.1 Manuscript Format

It is for online submission only.

2.1.1  Papers may be written in Bahasa Indonesia, but must be followed by an  abstract in English. If accepted, JKM or the authors will convert it into English.

2.1.2  For the original manuscript, submit it in IMRAD format

  • ABSTRACT,
  • INTRODUCTION,
  • METHODS,
  • RESULTS, and
  • DISCUSSION

2.1.3  The manuscript must be created in Microsoft Word format.

2.1.4  Times New Roman is the recommended font

2.1.5  The font size    : 11 for the whole Text except the Title is 14.

2.1.6  Space                : single

2.1.7  Text must be written in two columns

2.1.8  PDF format is not accepted

 

The manuscript must be presented in the order :

1.  Title page

2.  Abstract

A structured abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions) is required for an original article

No more than 250 words.

Do not cite references in the Abstract.

3.  Main Text

Typical main headings can be used, such as Introduction, Methods, Results,                    

Introduction         : State the background and the aims of the study.

3.1) Discussion, and Conclusion.

3.2)  Methods: Describe in detail and also include statistical methods. State the manufacturer's name for materials and equipment used, and the formal chemical name of a compound or drug as well.           

3.3)  Results: Present in a logical order. Use tables, figures, or illustrations.

3.4)  Discussion: Emphasise the interpretation of the important aspects of the study, the implications of the findings, and relate them to other relevant studies.

3.5)  Conclusions: Relate the conclusions to the aims of the study with supporting data.

3.6)  Acronyms, abbreviations, and symbols must be defined on first usage.

 

3.1 Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

      Tables and Figures should be titled and cited in numerical order in the Text.

3.1.1 Table  Description :

     3.1.1.1  Type each table on a separate sheet

     3.1.1.2  Table number should be written in Arabic numerals, followed by  a period and brief

                  information.

     3.1.1.3  Abbreviations within the table should be explained in a footnote  (use superscript

                  lowercase letters within a table (i.e.: a, b, c ---)

     3.1.1.4  Use only horizontal lines above and below the column headings, and at the bottom of

                  the table only. Do not use the vertical lines in tables.

3.2.1.  Figures Description :

     3.2.1.1   Both black and white figures or color illustrations are acceptable.

     3.2.1.2   Figures must be uploaded as separate image files (in file formats such as TIFF, JPG,

                   PSD, or PDF) with a minimum resolution of 600 dpi. To avoid large file sizes, use

                   the compression option for saving TIFF. 

      3.2.1.3  Colour images can be supplied in either RGB or CMYK mode.

      3.2.1.4  Figure legends must be typed on a separate sheet.

      3.2.1.5  Figure legends contain a brief title and explanation of the figures.

      3.2.1.6  Any abbreviations or symbols used in the figures must be defined in the figure legends.

 

4.  Acknowledgements: Acknowledge the grant awarded, the name and location of the institution or         organization, and the names of persons who have contributed significantly to the study.

5.  Conflict of Interest: "Declare that there is no potential conflict of interest" if no potential conflict of       interest.

6.  References: Use the Vancouver style, and reference managers to manage citations.  The cited                 references should be checked against original documents before submission.

4.1. References and Citation Style

Authors may submit their references in any style. If accepted, JKM will reformat the references into the journal's style. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the information in each reference is complete and accurate.

Cite references in the reference section using a format that includes all authors (do not use et al.), article title, journal title, year, and article identifying information, such as volume and page or article identifier or DOI

List all authors by first initial(s) and last name—number references within the Text consecutively in the order of first appearance.

5.1  Copyright Statement

The authors and co-authors agree to transfer all copyrights of the articles to JKM, which will retain them. As such, the authors and co-authors also grant JKM a license to publish the articles and identify themselves as the original publisher.
