Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus accounts for 5% of deaths worldwide each year, and 50% of deaths in diabetes
mellitus are caused by microvascular and macrovascular complications. This indicates that hyperglycemia
affects the lipid profile, which ultimately causes some abnormalities. Therefore, this study was conducted with
the aim of knowing the relationship between the association of glycated albumin (GA) Low-density lipoprotein
(LDL) cholesterol in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus therapy.
Methods: This research is an analytic research with cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was
diabetes mellitus type 2 patients with insulin therapy in RSUD. Dr. Pirngadi Medan.
Results: This study shows a very weak correlation between GA and LDL cholesterol (r = 0.143; p = 0.452).
Conclusion: Based on this research can be concluded that there is a very weak correlation relationship between
GA and LDL cholesterol.
