Abstract

Background: The use of contraceptive pills that have been used by millions of women around the world increases the risk of cervical cancer, because contraceptive pills contain the hormones estrogen and progesterone so that they can change the susceptibility of cervical cells to infection with human papilloma virus (HPV), a disease that attacks sexual intercourse. HPV is not sufficiently capable of neoplasia because of the possibility of malignant growth if there are hormonal abnormalities obtained from the use of contraceptives. This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of long-term contraceptive pills with the incidence of cervical cancer.

Methods: The research method used is literature, with a maximum journal publication time of 5 years from 2016 to 2020, the language used is Indonesian or English, with research subjects of patients with a diagnosis of cervical cancer, and full text publications.

Conclusion: There is a relationship between the use of long-term contraceptive pills with the incidence of cervical cancer. With variables that affect ranging from age, parity, and sexual relations. Keywords :
