Abstract

Background : Stress is the inability to overcome threats faced by human mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual, which at one time can affect human physical health. The pressure referred to is the pressure associated with studying and school or university activities, for example the grace period for assignments, just before the exam. Insomnia is a sleep disorder that is often complained of. This sleep disorder can affect work, social activities and health status for sufferers.

Methods : Analytical survey research method with cross sectional approach. The total population was 91 students while the sample was 48 respondents with a sampling technique using random sampling. The research measurement used the DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale) to determine stress and the KSPBJ-IRS (Jakarta Insomnia Rating Scale Biological Psychiatry Study Group) to determine insomnia. Data analysis was tested using chi square.

Conclusion : There is a significant relationship between stress levels and insomnia habits.
