Abstract

Background : Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is a serious health problem that affects millions of people each year with the main cause of gram-negative (-) bacteriaemia. Escherichia coli is an organism that is predominantly involved in UTI in pregnancy, and it has been reported that about 20% of it occurs in pregnant women due to anatomical and hormonal changes in pregnant women. The increased incidence of UTIs in pregnancy is associated with a history of urological disorders. The patient's immunity factors from blood type and secretor status (blood antigen secretion) also play a role in the incidence of UTI. UTIs can also be caused by a lack of good personal hygiene in pregnant women which can lead to UTIs in pregnancy.

Methods : The research used literature review method using secondary data. Data were collected using documentation techniques. Research journals are used as many as 5 journals, both national and international journals with a publication deadline for the last 5 years and use Indonesian and English. The inclusion criteria used in this study were pregnant women. Objective: To determine the factors associated with UTI in pregnancy

Conclusion : There is a relationship between age, education, occupation, gestational age and the habit of holding BAK which are factors that are associated with the incidence of UTI in pregnant women.
