Abstract

Background: Enterobius vermicularis is one types of intestinal worms still highest incidence in society. Worms infections caused by some risk factors was an bad of personal hygiene, ingesting worms infections contaminated foods, low degree of knowledge and economy. Maintain your personal hygiene as always washing hand before eating foods and after defecation can prevent infection of enterobius vermicularis.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship of personal hygiene with infection developed of enterobius vermicularis of chilldren at Terima Kasih Abadi retirement of Bestari health center working area.

Methods: The design of this research is correlation analytic research and with using Cross sectional study approach. The sampel in this study amounted 114 chilldren by using purposive sampling.

Results: From the statistical by Spearman correlation was obtained value p=0,005 (p= α) Which means there is a strong effect with the relationship of personal hygiene with infection developed of enterobius vermicularis of chilldren at terima kasih abadi retirement.

Conclusion: Based on the results of this study personal hygiene is the importance of applying personal hygiene can prevent infection of enterobius vermicularis. It is advisable to health workers and Terima kasih Abadi Retirement to always deliver to children about how the importance of personal hygiene for can prevent infection of enterobius vermicularis. And for further research it is necessary conducted a study of what affects the personal hygiene and enterobius vermicularis.
