Background : A high round cells count in the semen analysis usually positively correlates to a high amount
of leukocytes. The presence of leukocytes above normal levels in a male’s reproductive tract and ejaculate is
termed leukocytospermia, and is postulated to be relevant to a direct decrease in sperm motility.
Methods : The method is observational analytic, with retrospective design. The research sample is retrieved
from secondary data, which is patient’s medical record of infertile married males manual sperm analysis at
Dr.Kamajaya’s Clinic Medan in 2015. The number of research sample is 84 people. Data will be processed
both descriptive and analytically using IMB SPSS Statistic.
Results : This research shows that there are a negative correlation between grade-a sperm motility with the
round cells amount (r=-0,144) and grade-a+b sperm motility with the round cells amount (r=-0,210) but both
of them are not significant p=0,192; p=0,055 (p<0,05). This means that the higher amount of round cells, the
lower grade-a and grade-a+b motility will be.
Conclusion : According to this research, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between high round
cells count with sperm motility.
