HUBUNGAN MEROKOK DAN HIPERTENSI PADA PASIEN PENYAKIT JANTUNG KORONER

Abstract

Background : Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is the leading cause of death in Indonesia. CHD is a disease caused by blockage in blood vessels (atherosclerosis) which interferes blood flow to the heart. There are several risk factors for CHD including smoking and hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between smoking and hypertension in patients with CHD.

Methods: This study used a literature review method. Data was obtained from secondary data through documentation techniques. This documentation was done by searching for articles through Google scholar and Pubmed. The articles were selected in accordance to the research variables and inclusion criteria. The articles were analyzed using compare, contrast, criticize, synthesize, and summarize procedures.

Result: There were 15 articles synthesized from 8.127 articles that met the inclusion criteria. There were significantly relationship existed between smoking (8 articles, p < 0.05) and hypertension (7 articles, p < 0.05) and CHD, respectively.

Conclusion: The finding shows that there is a significantly correlation between smoking and hypertension in patients with CHD.
