HUBUNGAN PERILAKU IBU DAN KELENGKAPAN IMUNISASI ROTAVIRUS TERHADAP KEJADIAN DIARE PADA BALITA DI PUSKESMAS SINGA KABUPATEN KARO TAHUN 2024

Background : Based on the Central Bureau of Statistics of North Sumatra in 2023 the Singa Health Center is ranked third largest for diarrheal disease.
Objective : This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal behavior in exclusive breastfeeding, maternal behavior in washing hands, maternal behavior in cooking water, maternal behavior in sterilizing milk bottles, and completeness of rotavirus immunization with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers at Singa Health Center in 2024. Methods : This research method uses primary data with a cross sectional design. The population in this study were mothers who had toddlers and were in the Singa Health Center work area with a total sample of 80 mothers of toddlers taken by purposive sampling technique.
Results : From the analysis, it was found that toddlers did not experience diarrhea (57.5%), maternal behavior was divided into 4, namely: exclusive breastfeeding (61.25%); washing hands well (70%); always cooking water (47.5%); sterilizing milk bottles well (57.5%), and completeness of rotavirus immunization for toddlers (65%).
Conclusion : There is a significant relationship between maternal behavior (exclusive breastfeeding (p-value = 0.001); hand washing (p-value = 0.001); cooking water (p-value = 0.001); and sterilization of milk bottles (p-value = 0.011)), and completeness of rotavirus immunization (p-value = 0.001) on the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers at Singa Health Center, Karo Regency in 2024 .
