Abstract

Background : Anxiety can arise when conditions are full of stress and excessive worry
that cannot be avoided by students. Anxiety will affect physiological and psychological
conditions, one of which is sleep quality. This situation can affect academic decline,
namely final semester students who are completing their final thesis assignments will
not be able to do it optimally.
Research objective : To determine the relationship between anxiety level and sleep
quality in final semester students at the Faculty of Agriculture, Indonesian Methodist
University
Research method : This type of research is quantitative research using a cross
sectional method with a purposive sampling method. Data were collected using a
questionnaire with Spearman rank data analysis techniques to determine the
relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality in final semester students at the
Faculty of Agriculture, Indonesian Methodist University.
Research results : This study used a statistical test with Spearman Rank p value <0.002
where p value <0.05 so that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that there
was a relationship between anxiety level and sleep quality in final semester students at
the Faculty of Agriculture, Indonesian Methodist University.
Conclusion : There is a significant relationship between anxiety level and sleep quality
in final semester students at the Faculty of Agriculture, Indonesian Methodist
University, statistical test results obtained with Spearman Rank p value <0.002 where p
value <0.05. The r value is 0.483 which shows that there is a sufficient relationship
between the level of anxiety and the quality of students' sleep.
