Background: Diabetes is a metabolic disease characterized by increased blood sugar levels above the normal limit. Pharmacological treatment is one of the pillars of treating diabetes so that blood sugar levels remain under control. Compliance in diabetes treatment is essential because it affects the outcome of treatment.
Objective: To determine the relationship between compliance with anti-diabetic drug consumption and blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes at the Lau Baleng Health Center.
Research method: The type of research used is observational analytical research, with a cross-sectional approach. The study population was all diabetic patients who consumed anti-diabetic drugs at the Lau Baleng Health Center as many as 38 people. Data analysis techniques are univariate and bivariate. Data analysis using the Chi-square Test.
Results: The results of the study showed that of the 38 people who took anti-diabetic drugs, 23 people had moderate levels of adherence (60.5%), and 15 people who had low levels of adherence (39.5%). The chi-square statistical test gives a p-value of 0.000.
Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of compliance with anti-diabetic drug consumption and blood sugar levels in patients with Type II DM at the Lau Baleng Health Center with a p-value of 0.000.
