Abstract
Background: Knowledge about the danger signs of third-trimester pregnancy is important for pregnant women to have to reduce maternal mortality rates. Irregularities in conducting ANC examinations cause a lack of knowledge of pregnant women. ANC examination aims to improve the health of pregnant women optimally.
Research method: This type of research is quantitative analytical research, with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was 41 pregnant women in the third trimester who underwent ANC examinations at the Padang Bulan Selayang II Health Center. Data analysis techniques consist of univariate and bivariate. Data analysis using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test.
Results: The results showed that out of 41 pregnant women, 29 pregnant women had a good level of knowledge (70.7%), 10 pregnant women had a sufficient level of expertise (24.4%), and 2 pregnant women had a low level of knowledge (4.9%). Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical test (p-value 0.023).
Conclusion: There was a statistically significant relationship between pregnant women's knowledge level about the danger signs of pregnancy in the third trimester and the regularity of ANC examination (p < 0.05). An Odds Ratio (OR) value of 9.805 was obtained, which means that the mother's knowledge about the danger signs of pregnancy in the third trimester can affect the regularity of the ANC examination by 9.8 times.
