Diarrhea is a condition where a child has an increased number of bowel movements due to a disturbance in the
gastrointestinal tract. The consistency of the stool is watery and liquid (contains a lot of fluid) and usually occurs
more than 3 times in 24 hours. The age group with the highest likelihood of diarrhea is age group 1-4 (children)
with a percentage of 11.5% and in infants about 9%. With general symptoms of weight loss, reduced turgor,
sunken eyes and fontanel, dry oral mucosa, easy crying, vomiting (if it occurs continuously) can cause
dehydration, increased body temperature, and decreased appetite. The most likely and efficient thing to do is
rehydration measures by oral or intravenous administration, by giving ORS solution, giving food gradually, and
giving probiotics as a follow-up therapy.
