Background: Students majoring in agriculture must be able to handle a heavy course load in order to produce quality farmers. Agricultural students experience increased stress and lack of sleep as a consequence of their studies due to the tight assignments and lecture schedules required by the Faculty of Agriculture's competency-based curriculum.
Objective: The Faculty of Agriculture of the Indonesian Methodist University conducted this study with the aim of finding out the relationship between students' stress levels and their sleep quality.
Methods: The research sample requirements were met by 100 students enrolled in the agricultural education program at FP UMI. The Stress Anxiety Depression Scale and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, respectively, were used to assess stress and sleep quality. The relationship between stress and sleep quality was investigated using the Chi-Square test.
Results: In the poll, the majority of participants (53%) said they never experienced stress, while 50% said they lacked sleep. In univariate analysis, 2021 and 2020 had the lowest stress and sleep quality scores. Based on the Chi-Square analysis, there is a statistically significant relationship (p=0.0001) between stress and sleep deprivation.
Conclusion:. Among FP UMI students, there is a strong correlation between sleep quality and stress levels.
