HUBUNGAN TINGKAT STRES DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA SISWI SEMESTER III SMA METHODIST 1 MEDAN TAHUN 2016

Abstract

Stress is non human physical stimuli reaction of pressure (stimulus stressor). Many factors cause of stress on students, start from adaptability of students, many assigment, exam pressure, target of high academic achievment, personal problem, family factors, physical factor and psychological factors. Students who are stress tend to show changes in mood, behavior and physical apparance that lead to decline in studies achievment. The sudy was conducted to determine relationship stress levels by learning achievment of the third semester students at Methodist 1 high school, Medan in 2016.The research used analytical method with cross sectional design. The location of the study conducted in Methodist 1 high school, Medan. The subjects of this research are students in the third semester at Methodist 1 high school, Medan in 2016. Based on Slovin formula, the result are 96 people as the research subject. The sampling technique used in this study is simple random sampling. Analysis of the data used are statistics univariate and bivariate statistics. The test used was chi square test.Students with normal stress levelwith the total of 45 people (46,9%), mild stress levelwith the total of 23 people (24%), moderate stress levelwith the total of 16 people (16,7%), severe stress level with the total of 9 people (9.4%), and very heavy stress levelwith the total of 3 people (3.1%). Students with excellent learning achievement with the total of 1 people (1%), good learning achievement with the total of 92 people (95.8%), and learning achievement quite with the total of 3 people (3.1%). There was no relationship between stress levels and academic achievement with pValue  = 0,752 (p > 0,05).Based on this research can be concluded that there is no relationship stress levels by learning achievement of students of the semester III Methodist 1 high school, Medan in 2016.
