Abstract

SMK Bina Satria Medan faces challenges related to the low active participation of students during the learning process, which affects their academic achievement and readiness for the workforce. The identification of factors causing student inactivity has been performed manually through teacher observations, resulting in subjective assessments and unclear priority levels. This study aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) to identify and rank the factors contributing to student inactivity based on attendance records, behavioral notes, counseling reports, and student questionnaires. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is applied to perform weighting and pairwise comparisons among criteria, producing objective prioritization of the main factors. The system provides recommendations regarding the most influential factors, enabling the school to determine effective interventions, such as counseling programs, motivation development, or improvements in teaching methods. This DSS supports more accurate decision-making and contributes to a more optimal and productive learning environment.
