The success of a company in achieving its goals depends on the performance of its employees. Employee performance can be defined as the results or output of carrying out the tasks and responsibilities assigned to employees. This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of training and human resource development on employee performance. The respondents in this study were 35 employees at PT. Toba Pulp Lestari Medan. The types and sources of data used are primary data (questionnaires and interviews) and secondary data (documentary studies and literature reviews). The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression to determine the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables. The results of the multiple linear regression test indicate that Training, with a value of 0.516 units, is the variable with the most dominant relationship to the Employee Performance variable, while Human Resource Development has a smaller value of 0.473 units. The results of the partial hypothesis testing show that Training and Human Resource Development have a positive and significant influence on Employee Performance. The results of the simultaneous hypothesis testing show that Training and Human Resource Development simultaneously have a positive and significant influence on Employee Performance. Based on the results of the coefficient of determination test using R-Square, it was found that the contribution of Training and Human Resource Development in influencing Employee Performance is 76.3%.
