Word-Formation of Superlative Degree of Adjectives in Nias Language in Soera Ni’amoni’õ

This research aims to form superlative adjectives in the Nias language in Soera Ni'amoni'õ. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. This research applies Sidney E. Lang's theory in the book An Intermediate English Grammar (1912). Based on the research results, there were 29 data found in superlative form. This data was found in the form of 2 basic types of adjectives, namely adjectives with one word and adjectives with two words. The data is divided into 8 adjectives ending in -est, 14 adjectives with the addition of the word most, 5 adjectives ending in -y and 2 irregular adjectives found in Soera Ni'amoni'õ in the Torah section of the Old Testament. In the Nias language, there are two ways to form degrees of comparison. First, in adjectives with one word, the formation of superlatives in the Nias language, the word sibai is added after the adjective. Second, for adjectives with two superlative formation words in the Nias language, the word sibai is added between the two Nias language adjectives. In this case, it can be concluded that the Nias language has its own character and uniqueness in each word and sentence it forms.

TYPES ADJECTIVE REDUPLICATION IN SIMALUNGUN LANGUAGE: A STUDY ON PSALMEN IN THE BIBEL

The objectives of the study to find out the types of adjective reduplication in the Simalungun language: a study on Psalmen in the Bibel and to find out the forms of adjective reduplication in the Simalungun language: a study on Psalmen in the Bibel. This research applies Ramlan's (2018) theory, which states that reduplication has four types, namely: (1) full reduplication, (2) partial reduplication, (3) reduplication with affixes, and (4) reduplication with changes in phonemes. In this study only founded Ramlan (2018) states that reduplication has several types, namely: (1) full adjective reduplication, (2) partial adjective reduplication, (3) adjective reduplication with suffix. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collected from Psalmen in the Bibel. The results of research on adjective reduplication in the Psalmen in the Bibel are that there are 20 full adjectives reduplication, there are 17 partial adjectives reduplication with the morpheme prefix mar- ,6 adjective reduplications with the suffix an-. 20 Reduplication generally does not change the class of words, 17 The basic form is always in the units found in language use.

Translation Techniques of Culture-Bound Terms:

This study is about translation techniques are used and problems are found in translating culture-bound terms in Siwaluh Jabu into English. The significance of this study are to identify the translation techniques used to translate culture-bound terms and explore the effectiveness of the techniques in conveying the meaning of the original text. The writer used a descriptive qualitative approach in this study. The theories proposed by Molina and Albir (2002: 508). The culture-bound terms in the Karo Siwaluh Jabu traditional house, there are: ture, indung singkawiten, tapak raja sulaiman, pasak, pintu perik, bendi-bendi, danggulen, sencepik, julu, erdan, seruang, tekang, pandak, tandok kerbo, kesain, pengeret-ret, mel-melen, bena kayu, ujung kayu, lepar bena kayu, lepar ujung kayu, sedapurken bena kayu, sedapurken ujung kayu, sedapurken lepar bena kayu, sedapurken bena ujung kayu, dalang-dalang, para, and cuping-cuping. Can be translated using 11 translation techniques. Among them, the most common techniques are particularization, description, amplification, established equivalence, literal translation, calque, substitution, borrowing, variation, linguistic amplification, and reduction.

TYPES OF SLANG WORDS IN DOJA CAT’S SELECTED SONG LYRICS IN PLANET HER ALBUM

The objective of the study is to identify the types of slang words found in Doja Cat’s selected song lyrics in Planet Her album. The study applies Allan and Burridge's (2006) theory, which classifies slang words into five types: fresh and creative, flippant, imitative, acronym, and clipping. This study applies descriptive qualitative method and library research approach. The data are collected from Doja Cat's selected song lyrics in Planet Her album entitled: Woman, Get Into It (Yuh), Need to Know, I Don't Do Drugs, Love To Dream, Been Like This, Ain't Shit, Imagine, Alone, and Kiss Me More. Based on the data analysis, there are 61 data that contain slang words and only 4 types of slang words found in the data. They are fresh and creative (11.5%), flippant (16.4%), imitative (14.8%) and clipping (57.3%). Thus, clipping slang words are the type that is most often found, while acronym slang words are not found.
